This birthday edition of our Traditional Rump Steak is matured for 50 days for a tender texture and supreme flavour. This cut has a thin layer of fat around the edge which melts during cooking to enhance the flavour.
COOKING INSTRUCTION
Cooking guidelines from defrosted: remove the steak from its packaging, allow the meat to come to room temperature for 20 minutes, pat dry with kitchen paper.
Heat a little oil in a heavy based frying pan, over a medium high heat.
Cook the steaks to your liking following the recommended times.
Rare: 4 -5 minutes per side, rest for 6 minutes
Medium: 5-6 minutes per side, rest for 4 minutes
Well Done: 7-7 « minutes per side, rest for 1 minute
Once you have achieved a good level of caramelisation you may need to lower the heat so as not to overdo the outer surfaces.
Remove from the pan, cover with foil and leave to rest in a warm place for the recommended time.
