Confit Turkey Shank simply seasoned and cooked slowly in its own rendered fat. A delicious and convenient meal for two.
HOW TO STORE
- Storage: Keep frozen at -18°C or below
- Defrost: Defrost in refrigerator overnight. Do not re-freeze once defrosted
- Shelf life defrosted: Store in refrigerator and use within 24 hours
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Heating guidelines from defrosted: preheat the oven to 200°C / 190°C fan / gas mark 6.
Make sure the shanks are fully defrosted prior to cooking.
Leave the product in its bag for 15 minutes at room temperature prior to heating
Carefully open the bag and place the shanks with all the cooking juices into a neat fitting,roasting tin, skin side up.
Heat on the top shelf of the preheated oven for 40 - 45 minutes or until piping hot throughout. Basting occassionally.
To ensure the turkey is heated fully use a digital meat thermometer.
When piping hot throughout remove the turkey from the oven and rest somewhere warm for 3-5 minutes.
Once rested pull the meat from the bone, be careful to remove any hard shards from the meat.
